Are You a Fan of Sushi?
Konnichiwa minna! That’s good afternoon everyone in Japanese.
Are you a fan of sushi Bridgewater? If so, have you ever thought about making it for yourself at home? If so, you have the opportunity to take a sushi making class on Saturday, July 24th at Phukekt Thai Restaurant.
At the class, you’ll learn how to make sushi nigi and sushi rolls. The class will make about 5 different kinds of sushi nigiri (one piece) and 2 rolls: California and Rainbow. Snacks and drinks will be provided in the class. Since the class size is small, the structure is very informal and everyone will be able to receive assistance.
Doesn’t this sound fun? I must admit, I’m not much of a sushi fan, though I can say that I have finally tried it. I tried it when I was out with friends on Friday night. It was different to say the least, but not bad. I don’t think my body handled it well, but my taste buds were okay with it.
Space for the class is limited, so you should register now; there is a $40 registration fee, but it’s definitely worth it.

Food Labels: To Read or Not to Read? That is the Question
Have you ever taken the time to read the nutrition labels on items in the grocery store?
I’m sure we have all seen the common labels Made with whole grains; Omega 3; Made with real fruit; Zero trans fat; Free range eggs; and even Tastes like medicine!
You probably already know that fruits and vegetables are a healthy choice for your diet. But what about the “packaged junk food fortified with vitamin and fiber powder that screams for attention?” They can all be misleading if you are not aware of what they really mean.
It can be frustrating to want to buy something you really crave to eat, the label says its good for you, but then it turns out to not be so healthy after all. It’s time to expose some misconceptions about food products before putting those desired items into your grocery cart.
Do you know what they really mean? Take a closer look.
Super Bowl Party Recipe Idea!
The big game’s coming up this weekend. Needs ideas for the huge shindig you’re throwing? Well here’s a recipe that’s sure to satisfy any Saints or Colts fan!
Honeyed Chicken Wings
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup chile sauce
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- A bunch of radishes, trimmed, to serve (optional)
- 16 chicken wings
These really should be called Last Lick Chicken Wings – anyone who eats them removes every morsel of flavor and sticky meat from the bones. Just watch out that they don’t burn in the oven. They can be made one day in advance, just cover them with plastic wrap and chill until needed.
