Go Green: Make Your Own Multi-Purpose Cleaner
Wouldn’t it be great if you had one household cleaner that took care of ALL the dirty work? Some companies have come close to inventing one, but no one has successfully created a cleanser that will work on everything. The one that I am presenting to you may not work for everything, but it works for a good majority. As an added bonus, you don’t have to buy it! You can just use ingredients that you have around your house.
I’m talking about an all-purpose cleaner made from water and vinegar. All you have to do is mix equal parts water and vinegar together in a storage bottle. Before storing, make sure you label your new mixture. It should be good indefinitely, but it doesn’t hurt to make a new mixture every few months. Be sure to spot test before cleaning certain surfaces.
Let’s go green!
Going Green? Go LCD
Many new desktop computers come with energy efficient LCD monitors. For those that didn’t, consider purchasing an LCD monitor.
Not only does the picture show a lot better, LCD screens save about 66% more energy than CRTs (cathode ray tube), which is what older models of computers are shipped with. LCDs are 80% smaller in size and weight, which leads to fuel savings from shipping. They also generate less heat.
I bet you didn’t know all of this when you ordered your iMac or Dell did you?
What are some of the things that you’ve done to go green?
Green Your Apartment
Let’s face it, you are in an apartment that may be very spacious, but is still small compared to the space you really need. Don’t fret, if you are a “greenie” and you find it hard to green your small space, then you have come to the right place.
I found 8 simple steps that can help you get started and stay on track.
Tips here.
