It’s that season again where the hunt is on to find something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. The only problem that many of us run into is what to get the happy couple.

Most wedding registries are WAY too expensive, (unless the couple registers at the very upscale Targét ;) ), which makes it hard to find that perfect gift. Come on folks, one couple can only have so many toasters.

So what to get them? Well, Real Simple has a list of ideas that would make any couple smile. One in particular that I liked were recycled-felt pillows in customizable color combinations which are also available in block lettering. They are really nice and the perfect accent to their new home.

What great wedding gifts have you seen?

Felíz Día de las Madres - Happy Mother's Day

As we all know, Mother’s Day is this Sunday. I know that whenever this particular holiday rolls around, I always ask myself, what do you give the woman who has everything. Times were so much easier as a kid; you could just make your mom a macaroni picture and she’d go nuts. Nowadays, I don’t think that macaroni picture holds the same merit…

If you’re still thinking up ideas, why not spring for a spa day? Candy is always good; you can pick up some chocolatey goodies at the Chocolate Factory and satisfy Mom’s sweet tooth. Have you ever tried cooking a nice dinner for her? If you have, and that scorch mark on the kitchen counter is any indication of it, just take her out to one of these fine restaurants, and I’m sure she’ll be pleased as punch!

apple green fruit 240421 lHave you ever taken the time to read the nutrition labels on items in the grocery store?

I’m sure we have all seen the common labels Made with whole grains; Omega 3; Made with real fruit; Zero trans fat; Free range eggs; and even Tastes like medicine!

You probably already know that fruits and vegetables are a healthy choice for your diet. But what about the “packaged junk food fortified with vitamin and fiber powder that screams for attention?” They can all be misleading if you are not aware of what they really mean.

It can be frustrating to want to buy something you really crave to eat, the label says its good for you, but then it turns out to not be so healthy after all. It’s time to expose some misconceptions about food products before putting those desired items into your grocery cart.

Do you know what they really mean? Take a closer look.
